The idea of doing some organized social welfare activity was conceived by some friends with almost 50 years of association from 1970-75 entries of Cadet College Hasanabdal and Petaro, and 1975 entry of Pakistan Navy.

About Us

The transformation from BAADBAAN WELFARE TRUST to BAADBAAN FOUNDATION represents a progression in the organization’s structure and potentially its scope of activities. It’s commendable that the founders recognized their social responsibility to help those in need and took steps to create a formal entity for this purpose. By establishing the trust and subsequently transitioning to a foundation, they are likely aiming for a more organized and sustainable approach to their charitable endeavors.

Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah (Retd)

Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was the 21st Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy. After graduating from the Cadet College Hasan Abdal, he joined the Pakistan Naval Academy in 1975 and passed out with coveted Sword of Honour and also earning Chief of the Naval Staff gold medal at his graduation. Besides various Staff Command and instructional duties, he also served as a military attaché at the Pakistan Embassy, Doha in Qatar and as the Director-General of the National Accountability Bureau. He assumed command of the Pakistan Navy as Chief of the Naval Staff in 2014, apposition he held till his retirement in 2017.

He is a keen yachtsman and has represented Pakistan at numerous international events, including 1984 Olympics and Asian Games of 1986 and 1990. He has won Gold medal at the Asian Games twice. He is also a recipient of President’s Award for Pride of Performance for outstanding performance in yachting.

He has been the Chairman of Baadbaan Welfare Trust since its inception in 2019. Currently he is Chairman Board of Directors Officer of Baadbaan Foundation

Commodore Muhammad Javid Ghani (Retd)

Cdre Javaid Ghani got his early education at College Hasan Abdal (1970-75). Thereafter he joined Pakistan Navy and served on various appointments for over 35 years. After retirement he served Bahria Foundation as Deputy Managing Director .

He has been the Secretary General of Baadbaan Welfare Trust since its inception in 2019. Currently he is Chief Executive Officer of Baadbaan Foundation

Vice Admiral Shafqat Jawed (Retd)

After doing his intermediate from Cadet College Petaro, joined Pakistan Navy in 1975. During Naval Career spanning over 4 decades, held various Command & Staff Appointments before retiring as Vice Admiral in 2014. He served as Chairman Karachi Port Trust 2014-17.He is a graduate of Naval Staff College, Naval War College (USA) and National Defence University Islamabad.

Rear Admiral Khawaja Shahid Saeed (Retd)

Rear Admiral Shahid Saeed joined Pakistan Navy in 1975, after completing his early education at cadet College Hasan Abdal. Served in various positions including Submarines. Remained extensively involved in Submarines construction including top management position . Also did MBA from IBA and MSc in Engineering from UK. As Rear Admiral, headed Technical and Project branches of Pakistan Navy. After retirement he served as Pro Rector in Bahria University.

Commodore Misbahuddin Chohan (Retd)

After doing FSc from Cadet College Petaro , joined Pakistan Navy in 1975 . Served Pakistan Navy for 34 years in which he held various command, staff and training assignments and retired in 2009 . Post retirement served The Citizens Foundation (TCF) (an educational NGO ) , Earthquake Reconstruction Authority (ERRA) and, Bahria College , Naval Anchorage as the founding Principal till October 2020. .

Dr. Syed Muhammad Kamran Majeed

Dr Kamran Majeed after passing out from Cadet College Hasan Abdal in 1975, joined and got MBBS degree from King Edward Medical College. Got postgraduate training in surgery and urology in United Kingdom gaining FRCS and Diploma in Urology( London). Joined KRL Hospital as consultant surgeon and urologist in 1992. Rose to lead the organization as Director General KRL Medical Services Division and head of KRL Hospital for more than fifteen years before retiring in 2018. Currently working at Shifa International Hospital as consultant urologist and renal transplant surgeon. He was awarded Sitara e Imtiaz for his outstanding services.

Muhammad Javed Cheema

He is an experienced IT professional with a background in hardware and Networking Engineering. After working in Kuwait in 80s for a multinational company, migrated to NY, USA, where he worked as a network engineer for renowned fortune 500 companies.
In the early ‘90s he started his own software house in Midtown Manhattan and operated with renowned American companies. After securing a multimillion-dollar Artificial Intelligence project in New York, in ‘2000s established an offshore development center in Islamabad and trained hundreds of Pakistani professionals in Artificial Intelligence. He went on to expand his company branches to Canada, Kuwait, and Dubai.

Masroor Zaman Malik

Commercially astute ACCA & UK Graduate in Accounting and Finance with over 19 years’ experience of providing comprehensive high quality commercial finance and accounting and tax support services to businesses across UK, UAE and Pakistan within Global trave retail, Management consultancy, commodities, energy, construction, financial services, and telecommunication.

Currently serving as Director at CBMC Group of companies.

Vice Adm. Khwaja Ghazanfar Hussain (Retd)

President - Karachi Division

He joined Pakistan Navy after doing his intermediate from Cadet College Petaro in 1975. After a four decade long illustrious Naval Career retired as Vice Admiral in 2014.Post retirement , held two tenures of DG Bahria University , Karachi. Presently he is in his second tenure as DG Bahria University. He is President Karachi Chapter of the Foundation.
